Topic: Abuse

This Sunday I will talk about abuse. It's a difficult subject, and I will be approaching it from the perspective of how we as Christians process through abuse, as well as how we respond to our abusers. Of course the church doesn't have a great track record at being compassionate and helpful many times, so I also want to touch on how we as a church can better be a community of healing.

There's sexual abuse, physical abuse, even spiritual abuse. How have you worked through this, or helped your friends find a way through the pain and woundedness?

Don't forget to maybe touch on abusive situations in the workplace...

What does a Christian say or do for a co-worker who has been belittled and dogged on by the boss or others in the company??? What do we do if it's happening to us?  How about the co-worker who is being sexually harassed by workplace authority? The average person spends 2/3 of their weekly daylight at their job. I ask myself, how can we make the most of that time to interact with people and show them Jesus?
